Two of our Stormforce apprentices, Jacob Blight and Lewis Round, have been competing in the finals of Skillbuild, the largest multi-trades skills competition in the UK for construction trainees and apprentices. Better still, Jacob walked away as the overall winner and we’re incredibly proud of the both of them.
Jacob and Lewis were both tested against the top apprentices and trainees in the country and the tests included knowledge of the construction industry as well as skills and ability. The whole event took place across a three-day period in Milton Keynes and was judge by a panel of experienced construction industry experts. Their result concluded that Jacob Blight from Stormforce in Plymouth, was the overall winner which not only made him smile but us as well.
Commenting on Jacob’s achievement, Stormforce, Company Director Adrian Howe said: “Apprenticeships are all about unearthing the best young talent that will enable a business to grow and move forward in the future. The performance of Jacob and Lewis tells us the future of Stormforce is in very good hands indeed, especially when we have young talent like those two around the business. Extra congratulations should go to Jacob and I hope he’s not been rubbing Lewis’s nose in it too much.”
