As with Widecombe Stormforce were asked to help estimate the roofing replacement costs.
The Academy were successful in there bid and appointed Stormforce as Principal Contractor.
The works involved were the complete roofing replacement along with fascia boards, guttering, the flat roof replacement, and the windows were replaced to match in with the approved design from Dartmoor National Park.
This project started several weeks into the summer holidays and Stormforce tasked the large asbestos roof to be replaced prior to the school returning for the new school year.
Due to the location of the school in a small village it gave the team several issues to deal with. The scaffolding had to be placed onto the main road and this was also the main access point for the asbestos removal.
Despite these challenges the roof was replaced and complete before the school returned.
The rest of the works were carried out during term time and were completed with minimal disruption to the school.
